Biopact has this story: scientists of the University of Kassel in Germany prove that the entire country can be powered by renewables only. They connected biogas, wind and solar power in a distributed way and show it can deliver both baseloads and peakloads.

The SET2008 (7th International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies) has been held from 24 to27 August, 2008 at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Seoul, Korea, the “heart of Korea”, a country rich in traditions, culture, arts, hospitality and natural beauties.

This is the future project in Australia. It will be ready in 2012.

Raising the share of renewable energy from 8.5% to 20% in the overall energy consumption is a necessary contribution to the global fight against climate change and towards better control over our energy dependence.
