Here is a short video of some solar energy farms around the world. Enjoy Solar Energy is energy from the Sun. This energy drives the climate and weather and supports virtually all life on Earth. Heat and light from the sun, along with solar-based resources such as wind and wave power, hydroelectricity and biomass, account for most of the available flow of renewable energy. Solar energy technologies harness the sun’s energy for practical ends. These technologies date from the time of the early Greeks, Native Americans and Chinese, who warmed their buildings by orienting them toward the sun. Modern solar technologies provide heating, lighting, electricity and even flight. Solar power is used synonymously with solar energy or more specifically to refer to the conversion of sunlight into electricity. This can be done either through the photovoltaic effect or by heating a transfer fluid to produce steam to run a generator. Solar photovoltaics provide 0.04% of the world’s energy usage. There are many technologies for harnessing solar energy. Applications span through the residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and transportation sectors. Solar energy can be used to produce food, heat, light and electricity. The flexibility of solar energy is manifest in a wide variety of technologies. -wikipedia www.greenrep.net

Solar Panels are better than nuclear, even though they are more costly to manufacture per kilowatt, cause more pollution from the materials that go into construction, generate barely any electricity, depend on unpredictable clear skies, and ruin landscapes.

im starting a solar business. this is the best time to do this. i can only hope that gas prices and energy prices go up. lol

i dont think global warming will do it alone.

solar can be placed in the deserts. deserts are heaven for solar power. they also dont have risk of killing off animals. solar is definitely better then wind. and wind is better then oil, coal, natual gas which are very finite and lots of polution.

I think solar power is better than wind power; wind can have health affects and is bad for migrating birds. If the money that has gone into oil and coal was used for innovations with solar, we would have a different world.
I also think that energy shouldn’t be commodified. That sounds commie, but it would get the greed factor out of the industry.
    Just an opinion…

    100 % agree

  6. 6 Trund27on 10 Feb 2010 at 07:22

You said it. I think solar power is the greatest source we have that is not used enough.

the best alternative energy is small home renewable energy in other words energy created buy renewable sources in our own home

  8. 8 pacificcresttranson 10 Feb 2010 at 09:14

Solar energy has the capacity to meet 15% of US electricity by 2020. People are adopting alternate energy methods like solar and wind power for the electricity supply. As energy demands increase, markets for these sources will only grow. Pacific Crest Transformers has articles on the renewable energy sector in the United States.

Now they need to shut down the oil business.
And make some more of those nice solar pannels.

dammet i wish that my house ran on solar. or atleast some kind of clean renewable.

A better alternative than solar energy?

I built my own Solar Panels for under $100 which are currently powering my 1700 Square Foot home using the plans at:

To get solar energy 24/7, I thought of having the huge solar cellls build outer space, point the electric power back to earth using Nicola Tesla’s method without wire to a fixed point back on earth. Satalites use solar energy all year long without refueling. Please comment. TQ.

That’s truly amazing! I slashed my electric bill in half! look here: solar.xfollow.me (Copy to your browser’s address bar)

These don’t need to turn the deserts into a vast dust bowl, no! And turning it into a giant black field (of PV) is obviously a no no. Using billions of post driven COOL mirrors (without the need to bulldoze) is the final solution to UNLIMITED SOLAR thermal power with heat storage.

The Sterling Energy System’s proven concept does not store heat BUT is twice as efficient! Maybe bat’s or H2 could then be cost effective means? CSP (however designed) provides more jobs than oil!

and great video by the way :)

Nicola Tesla’s vision will become true:

    Free enregy for all.

no more enregy dictatorships/rising fuel and gas prices linked to oligarchs and Big Oil conglomerates.
Oil is death (wars and a dying environment) people unite against all this and produce your own energy and make money out of it.

Oil and coal are one form of stored solar energy converted from plant and animals to a handy fuel source. All we have to do is pump it out of the ground and refine it.

has images and has music, how is it not a video show?
    video = images changing
This is just a really sucky show with images changing that even a kid with add would find hard to follow
